I want to see that kid go Goth in a big way.

I guess it will have to be enough for me that the thought occurred to Hilary--and Sally.

Hey, Ces, how about having the Forths go on a family trip to Islamorada, to visit their friends the Beasleys? Hilary can wear a yellow jacket, with her hair styled into fluffy tufts....

More shout-outs, mule!
Where's the Game Theory ref I asked you for?
Game Theory -- the '80s band Game Theory? Is there another Game Theory fan on this board? The mind reels.

Loved the Cure popping up in today's strip. Best musical reference in SF since Ted's Sonic Youth T-shirt!

But--will her mom make her wipe off that cheap "dimestore lipstick" before she leaves the house?

"Head on the Door" was one of my favorite albums in college (played almost as often as "Lifes Rich Pageant"). Of course, no truly discerning ear can turn away from "Pornography" or "Disintegration." But why oh why won't people give "Wild Mood Swings" its due?

If I remember correctly, Game Theory was quite fond of Big Star and that can only be good.

Please join us next week when Hil goes through her mom's collection of Einstürzende Neubauten discs.

Big ups for Rhino's current reissue series of the early Cure albums, incidentally. Surprisingly, the demos and live tracks are actually kind of interesting, which is not at all usually the case.

Yes, Sue, there's another Game Theory fan here. The one Ant wrote the song about for no readily apparent reason. (The backstory: Ces offered to make me a personalized strip a few weeks back, because I hooked him up with my sister's company, a sort of multimedia mini-syndicate. I mentioned Game Theory in my list of proposed topics.)

Both "Head on the Door" and Game Theory rock.

I'm not a big "Pornography" fan - have to be in just the right mood for that one. I'm more of a "Seventeen Seconds" guy.

Hmmm, that was filled with double entendre potential.

but the point is, you would never get away with Ted saying how great 'Pornography' is...

I'm guessing that Ted expressing an interest in going to a GWAR concert is out of the question, too, then?

Postby Woodrowfan » Wed Sep 21, 2005 4:51 pm

Why do I sense that Ces and/or the lovely Carol are acting out some childhood angst with the current storyline????
